Preparations for the annual awards for urbane culture and hip-hop/pop music The Headies (formerly known as the HipHopWorld Awards) have begun, as organizers will now be receiving materials for consideration for the seventh edition of the awards.
According to the C.E.O of Smooth Operations, organizers of The Headies, Ayo Animashaun, artistes and labels who want to be considered for nomination must submit  three audio CDs, four DVDs, a mini DV tape, soft copies of artistes’ profile and a portrait picture to the awards secretariat.
Submission of entries begin on Monday, June 4 and ends on Saturday, June 30. Animashaun says all completed entry materials should be sent to the Headies secretariat at 4, Ogundana Street, Off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Only music content released between March 2011 to February 2012 are eligible for entry.
Last year’s award’s ceremony took place on October 22, 2012 at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island with African pop icon 2face Idibia emerging as the biggest winner of the night, carting away three awards.
