Let the race begin! Voting for the 2012 MTV EMA is now open. And YOU, the fans, get to pick the winners!

This year’s musically diverse crew of nominees include familiar faces as well as newcomers. Rihanna scored the most nods with 6, followed closely by Taylor Swift with 5. EMA faves Justin Bieber and Katy Perry have 4 each. And last year’s big winner Lady Gaga competes for three—along with first-time EMA nominees Carly Rae Jepsen, fun., Lana Del Rey, and Nicki Minaj as well as past EMA performers Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Plus, voters around the world get to pick their favourite local artists, who will then go head-to-head with other artists in their region...and the finalists will compete for the honour of being named Worldwide Act!

The World Wide Act category was introduced last year, the category includes different Regions - Africa/India/Middle East, Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America and Europe. The nominee with the highest vote in each regions will be nominated for world wide act.

For Africa:
