What better way to usher in the New Year
than to party with emerging and established acts like Ajebutter, Baby Boi, Kel,
Luni, Pheel, Seyi Shay, Tillaman and even a surprise guest or two? This is what you get when you come for One
Mic Naija on Sunday January 27th as organisers of the bi-monthly
live artiste showcase prepare to kick off 2013 in grand style.
Last year saw One Mic Naija performances
by Sound Sultan, Dammy Krane, Solidstar and more, and this, added to the
growing popularity of the event amongst young people and even brands like
Spinlet led to it being named one of the ‘300 People, Places and Events that
shaped 2012’ by NET.
This year, organisers have promised even
more discoveries (as with a Slim T who after performing at One MIc Naija went on
to have a break out year in 2012), more surprises (like when Banky W performed
with Sound Sultan and Chocolate City showed up to support Grip Boiz), bigger
prizes for the open mic winners (who have in the past gone home with free beats
courtesy Coldflames, electronics courtesy Samsung, cash courtesy @ForMyArea and
phones courtesy Etisalat) and generally more music, more fun, but still, One
Mic!
