A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the recent protest in Ondo State, alleging that supporters of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa were responsible for escalating tensions within the party.
The group claimed that the demonstration reflected growing divisions among party members and accused the Aiyedatiwa camp of actions that have deepened the internal crisis. According to its representatives, such developments could undermine party unity and distract from the APC’s political objectives in the state.
The faction expressed concern over what it described as increasing discord within the party, urging members to embrace dialogue and peaceful engagement instead of actions capable of worsening existing disagreements.
Party stakeholders have continued to call for reconciliation among the various blocs, stressing that unity will be essential as the APC prepares for future political activities and electoral contests in Ondo State.
The internal disagreement comes amid ongoing efforts by party leaders to maintain cohesion and strengthen the APC’s structure at the state level. Political observers believe that resolving the differences through constructive engagement will be critical to preserving stability within the party.
The protesting faction maintained that party grievances should be addressed through established internal mechanisms rather than public demonstrations capable of creating further divisions.
As discussions continue, APC members and stakeholders are expected to intensify efforts toward reconciliation, with the aim of restoring confidence, promoting unity, and ensuring the party remains focused on its political agenda in Ondo State.
The development highlights the challenges of managing internal party disputes and underscores the importance of dialogue in sustaining organizational stability ahead of future elections.
