The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 10 business premises for violating the state’s environmental and noise pollution regulations.
The enforcement action followed inspections that identified the affected businesses as operating in breach of established environmental standards, particularly through excessive noise emissions and activities contributing to environmental pollution.
According to the agency, the closures form part of its ongoing campaign to ensure compliance with environmental laws and protect residents from the adverse effects of pollution.
LASEPA stated that businesses operating within Lagos State are expected to comply with approved environmental guidelines and adopt measures that minimize noise and other forms of pollution capable of affecting surrounding communities.
The agency reiterated that enforcement operations would continue across the state, warning that organisations found violating environmental regulations would face appropriate sanctions, including temporary closure where necessary.
Officials emphasized that maintaining a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment remains a priority, urging business owners to obtain the required environmental permits and implement pollution control measures.
The crackdown reflects the Lagos State Government’s broader commitment to enforcing environmental standards and improving the quality of life for residents through stricter regulation of commercial activities.
LASEPA also encouraged members of the public to report cases of excessive noise and environmental pollution, assuring residents that complaints would be investigated promptly.
