Chief Executive of the Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (DPRA), Rabiu Umar, has encouraged Nigerians to register for golf training programmes, highlighting the sport’s benefits for personal development, networking, and healthy living.
Umar made the appeal as part of efforts to promote greater participation in golf and expand the sport’s reach across the country. He noted that structured training programmes provide opportunities for beginners and aspiring golfers to develop their skills under proper guidance.
According to him, increasing public involvement in golf will contribute to the growth of the sport in Nigeria while creating avenues for talent development and broader community engagement.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to encourage participation in recreational and competitive sports, with organisers hoping to attract individuals from diverse backgrounds to the golfing community.
Prospective participants have been urged to take advantage of the training opportunities to learn the fundamentals of the game, improve their techniques, and enjoy the physical and social benefits associated with golf.
The programme is expected to contribute to the continued development of golf in Nigeria by introducing more people to the sport and nurturing future talent.
