Former Kano State Governor and national political figure Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has called on Nigerians to embrace forgiveness and reconciliation, stressing the importance of national unity in addressing the country’s challenges.

Speaking on the need for greater cohesion among the nation’s diverse ethnic and regional groups, Kwankwaso urged Nigerians to move beyond past grievances and work collectively toward building a more peaceful and prosperous country.

He noted that the South East has historically maintained strong ties with the North, describing the region as a longstanding ally whose relationship with northern communities has been shaped by decades of economic, social, and political interaction.

According to Kwankwaso, strengthening these historic bonds through dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding is essential to promoting national stability and fostering inclusive development across the country.

The former governor emphasized that forgiveness should be viewed as a foundation for rebuilding trust among Nigerians, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious differences. He argued that unity remains critical to overcoming the country’s economic, security, and governance challenges.

Kwankwaso’s remarks come amid continued discussions on national integration and the need for stronger cooperation among Nigeria’s regions. He encouraged political leaders and citizens alike to prioritize peaceful coexistence and collective progress over division and conflict.

He concluded by expressing optimism that greater understanding and collaboration among Nigerians would contribute to a stronger, more united nation capable of achieving sustainable development.
