Team Nigeria is 95 percent prepared for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, according to Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) head coach Solomon Aliyu, who has expressed confidence in the country’s prospects at the international competition.
Aliyu said the athletics team has made significant progress in its preparations through intensive training programmes and technical sessions aimed at ensuring the athletes are in peak condition before the Games begin. He noted that only the final phase of preparations remains as the squad fine-tunes its performance.
The head coach praised the dedication and commitment shown by the athletes throughout the training camp, expressing optimism that their hard work will translate into strong performances against some of the Commonwealth’s best competitors.
According to Aliyu, the coaching crew has focused on improving fitness, technical execution, and mental preparedness, while also addressing key areas identified during previous competitions.
