Nigerian international striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a permanent move to Turkish club Bursaspor, signing a three-year contract with the ambitious side as he begins a new chapter in his career.
Bursaspor officially announced the arrival of the 29-year-old forward after reaching an agreement with the former Celtic striker, who joined the Turkish club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract in Scotland.
Iheanacho arrives with a wealth of experience, having previously featured for Manchester City, Leicester City, Sevilla, Middlesbrough, and Celtic. During his spell with Celtic, he rediscovered his scoring form, registering nine goals and one assist in 24 appearances while helping the club secure domestic success.
Bursaspor views the signing as a major statement of intent as the club pursues promotion back to the Turkish Süper Lig. Club officials believe Iheanacho’s experience, leadership, and proven goalscoring ability will strengthen their attacking options for the new campaign.
The Nigerian forward had attracted interest from several clubs across Europe and South America before opting for Bursaspor’s long-term project. His decision to sign a three-year contract reflects both the club’s ambition and its confidence in the striker’s ability to play a central role in its future plans.
With the move now complete, Iheanacho will be expected to spearhead Bursaspor’s promotion challenge while seeking to revive his club career in Turkish football.
