NBA Africa and Future Concerns Nigeria Limited have announced a multiyear partnership to establish the NBA Regional Excellence Centre (NBA REC) in Nigeria, a major initiative aimed at developing basketball talent and strengthening the sport’s ecosystem in the country.
The NBA Regional Excellence Centre will provide a dedicated environment for young athletes to receive high-quality coaching, training, and player development opportunities under professional standards. The initiative forms part of NBA Africa’s broader strategy to expand basketball development across the continent.
Under the partnership, Future Concerns Nigeria Limited will support the implementation, management, and operation of the centre, working alongside NBA Africa to create a sustainable pathway for emerging basketball players.
The partners said the project is designed to nurture young talent, improve access to elite basketball training, and contribute to the long-term growth of the sport in Nigeria.
The launch of the NBA REC represents a significant milestone for Nigerian basketball, with both organizations expressing confidence that the collaboration will help produce future stars while promoting youth development and expanding opportunities within the country’s basketball community.
