President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Adesoji Tayo, has emphasized the importance of regular training camps as a key strategy for developing the sport and preparing Nigerian players for sustained success on the international stage.

Tayo noted that consistent camping programmes provide athletes with structured opportunities to improve their technical skills, physical conditioning, and tactical awareness while fostering stronger teamwork and discipline. According to him, regular training sessions are essential for building a pipeline of talented players capable of competing at the highest levels.

The NTTF president explained that maintaining a routine schedule of national camps would enable coaches to closely monitor players’ progress, identify emerging talents, and adequately prepare teams for major continental and global competitions.

He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to grassroots development and long-term investment in player development, stressing that sustained training initiatives are fundamental to securing the future of Nigerian table tennis.

Tayo added that the federation remains focused on creating an environment where athletes can consistently improve and compete with the world’s best. He expressed optimism that regular camps, combined with effective coaching and support programmes, would strengthen Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading table tennis nations.

The renewed emphasis on continuous player development reflects the NTTF’s broader vision of building a stronger and more competitive table tennis programme capable of producing future champions for Nigeria.
