Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on political, traditional, and community leaders in Plateau State to rally behind former Governor Jonah Jang in a renewed effort to promote lasting peace and stability across the state.
Speaking during a recent engagement, Shettima stressed that sustainable peace can only be achieved through unity, dialogue, and collective leadership. He urged influential stakeholders to put aside political and personal differences and work together in the interest of the people.
According to the Vice President, respected leaders such as Jonah Jang have an important role to play in fostering reconciliation, strengthening trust among communities, and supporting ongoing peace-building initiatives in Plateau State.
Shettima noted that lasting security and development require inclusive leadership and cooperation among all segments of society. He emphasized that unity among the state’s elites would create an enabling environment for economic growth, social harmony, and improved security.
The Vice President’s appeal comes as efforts continue to address recurring security challenges and communal tensions in Plateau State. He expressed optimism that with the commitment of political and community leaders, the state can achieve enduring peace and create a more stable future for its residents.
