The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has underscored the critical role of proper data handling in Nigeria’s fight against corruption.
Speaking on the importance of effective information management, the ICPC Chairman said accurate, reliable, and well-organized data is essential for identifying corrupt practices, supporting investigations, and ensuring accountability across public institutions.
According to the anti-graft agency, strong data management systems enable investigators to gather credible evidence, monitor trends, and improve the efficiency of anti-corruption efforts. The Chairman noted that data integrity remains a key component of transparent governance and effective law enforcement.
He also called for greater investment in modern data management systems and improved record-keeping across government agencies, stressing that stronger information systems would enhance the detection, prevention, and prosecution of corruption-related offences.
