The Nigerian military has rescued 46 schoolchildren who were abducted by armed criminals during a security operation aimed at combating kidnapping and restoring peace in affected communities.

According to security authorities, the rescue followed coordinated operations by military personnel, who successfully secured the release of the children and ensured their safe evacuation from captivity. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and protect vulnerable communities from criminal attacks.

The rescued pupils are expected to receive medical attention and psychosocial support before being reunited with their families. Authorities also confirmed that efforts are continuing to apprehend those responsible for the abduction and dismantle the criminal networks involved.

The successful operation underscores the military’s continued commitment to protecting civilians, particularly schoolchildren, who have increasingly become targets of kidnapping incidents in parts of the country.

Security agencies have assured residents that operations against kidnappers and other criminal groups will continue as part of broader measures to improve safety and restore public confidence.
