The Nigerian military has announced that troops eliminated 274 suspected insurgents during recent counter-insurgency operations conducted across the country, even as security agencies recorded a total of 882 attacks in various regions.

According to the military, the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to combat insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes threatening national security. Troops reportedly carried out coordinated offensives targeting criminal hideouts and areas identified as security flashpoints.

Despite the reported success in neutralizing suspected insurgents, the recorded 882 attacks underscore the scale of Nigeria’s security challenges. The incidents, which occurred across multiple parts of the country, highlight the continued threat posed by armed groups and the need for sustained security operations.

Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against insurgents and other criminal elements, emphasizing that efforts to protect lives, secure communities, and restore stability remain a top priority.

The latest figures reflect both the progress made through ongoing military offensives and the persistent security concerns facing the country, reinforcing the importance of continued collaboration among security agencies and local communities in addressing the threat of violent attacks.
