The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that travelers in the United States seeking Nigerian visas must now submit their applications directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions following the termination of its third-party visa processing arrangement.
Under the new directive, applicants will no longer process their visa requests through the previously authorized service provider. Instead, visa applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or the Nigerian Consulates in New York and Atlanta until further notice.
The NIS said the change is intended to ensure the continued processing of visa applications through official diplomatic channels. It also assured applicants that the Nigerian missions in the United States have put the necessary measures in place to facilitate a smooth transition and minimize disruptions to visa services.
Travelers planning to visit Nigeria are advised to contact the appropriate Nigerian diplomatic mission for updated information on application procedures, documentation requirements, and appointment scheduling. The immigration service also encouraged applicants to monitor official NIS and embassy communication channels for further updates.
