The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized President Bola Tinubu over his administration’s handling of insecurity, describing him as a “professional statement-maker” and questioning the effectiveness of the government’s response to the country’s security challenges.
In a statement, the opposition party expressed dissatisfaction with what it described as the President’s repeated public assurances on insecurity, arguing that such remarks have not translated into tangible improvements in the nation’s security situation.
According to the ADC, Nigerians expect stronger action and measurable results in addressing persistent threats, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violent crime affecting several parts of the country.
The party called on the Federal Government to prioritize practical security measures, strengthen the capacity of security agencies, and implement strategies capable of restoring peace and protecting lives and property.
The criticism comes amid continued public debate over the state of national security and the effectiveness of government policies. While the ADC maintains that more decisive action is needed, the Tinubu administration has consistently stated that it remains committed to improving security through ongoing military operations, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration.
